I am delighted to announce that these eight different images are now available as
top quality Giclee Prints!
I have chosen to use the website Scotland's Artists to produce and sell my prints for me. They can be easily ordered via their website. There are many advantages to this system. One is that you get Free postage and packaging within the UK.
As they will post directly to you, it saves your print going through the post twice and saves you paying any postage at all.
It also saves me having to buy and store lots of prints. The images are printed to order so there is no waste and no chance of prints getting damaged in storage.
I had a sample of the large 28 x 28 cm print sent out to me this week and it is absolutely gorgeous! I have it framed already and you can hardly tell that it's not a felt original.
November has been a very dark month this year but I was delighted to see a bright morning yesterday with these beautiful cloud formations above the sunrise.
I'm nearly ready to settle in for the Winter with just one event left to take part in this weekend.
I have really enjoyed taking my work out to lots of events during October and November and this weekend you can find me at
The Loft at Ardross Farm Shop
9 - 5.30 Saturday 28th and 9 - 4 Sunday 29th
I have some new makes made especially for the event.
Tweed and Felt Trinket Boxes from £28 - £45
I particularly like the one above. The pinks and greens in the lid go really nicely with the purple Harris Tweed.
Seascape Moon Pendants
Layers of shimmering fabrics become mini seascapes lit by a full moon.
Lots of new Felt Brooches £12
Tartan Bird Brooches also £12
I have a limited stock left of all my printed Gift items.
Zipped Pouches £7.95
I recently joined Twitter and have been trying to educate myself on how to make that work for business. The first thing I did was reconnect with Hilary at Craft Blog UK and bought her book. I've been up and running with lots of Hilary's suggestions for some time now but although I'm only a few pages into the book, I have been helped to understand a few things better. I can recommend this book to anyone trying to sell their work online. It can be purchased on Amazon here
You can find me on Twitter as @FifeFibreArist. They wouldn't let me use AileenClarkeCrafts as it's too long! Pft!
In order to keep making you wee sheepies and to enjoy reading by the fire, I have had to get myself some specs! I decided if I had to wear glasses at all then they needed to be colour coordinated with my work.
This is to encourage people to make even just a small purchase from Artists/Makers as it all goes toward helping us to make a living, even if all you buy is just a card.
I can honestly say that I am so delighted with the support I get for my work. Online, in person at events and through the shops selling my work. Your purchases all mean so much to me and I'd like to say a huge THANK YOU! ❤
Lastly for this blog update, I thought I'd share this local street sign with you! Seeing as I never have a needle out of my hand during my working day, I should really live on this street! Maybe I should get a sign made for my work space and call it Needle Corner.
This is a free event and a chance to meet artists and makers from all over the country.
10.30 - 4.30 pm
I will then be at The Makers Market at St Andrews Town Hall on Saturday 21st November.
The Town Hall is in the centre of St Andrews on Queen's Gardens. It's a beautiful venue in a beautiful town. Well worth the visit.
11 - 4 pm. Also free entry.
and at the end of the month on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November, I will be at
The Loft at Ardross farm Shop
Elie, KY9 1EU
Saturday 9 - 5 pm, Sunday 9 - 4 pm
I have a few new makes for these events as well as a good supply of my usual work.
New this week are these Felt Boxes with Wooden Butterfly Button lids.
I made a couple of Seascape Boxes as well.
This is my favourite with real shells decorating the lid.
I really enjoyed making the felt for these boxes. Rich in silk fibres in deep sea greens and blues with streaks of purple. The designs are hand stamped onto the lids.
I'll have lots of my textile and resin jewellery with me at the above events. There is a competition run by 'Small City Big Personality' to win this set along with two other gifts from other makers attending The Handmade Show in Perth. Click here to enter.
I'll have lots of new cushions with me including this Dragonfly design below.
I'll be adding lots more to my Etsy shop in Monday 16th November. If you are too far away to attend any of the events but are interested in my work, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I also have a range of framed felt art and jewellery as The Atholl Gallery in Dunkeld.
Some of my framed work is also available at the West Street Arts Centre in Penicuik until December 4th.
First of all, you are all invited to the preview of the Friends in November Exhibition this Sunday the 1st November from 2 - 5pm at Penicuik Arts Centre, 4 West Street, Penicuik, EH26 9DL.
Join us for wine and nibbles and a browse around an exciting exhibition featuring weaving, fibre art, stained glass, painting, papier mache and much more.
You can then find me on Saturday 7th November at The Locus Centre, Abefeldy as part of the Aberfeldy Music Festival. I will be there with all my wares from 10 - 4pm.
Then it's all aboard for The Handmade Show at Perth Concert Hall on Sunday 15th November. I LOVE The Handmade Show! I'm working really hard to bring you a full selection of my work including new cushions, pictures, boxes and jewellery.
And my last event for 2015 will be at The Loft, Ardross Farm Shop, Elie KY9 1EU
This is a two day event running over Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November. 9 - 5 pm on Saturday and 9 - 4pm on Sunday.
I had a very enjoyable day at Falkland Craft Market on Saturday. This was the last fair at Falkland for me this year but the good news is that the markets will run again next year with lots of opportunities to meet local artists and makers.
My next event is this Saturday the 24th October at Pitcairngreen Village Hall. I have been taking part in this event for over 10 years and it's always lovely to attend. There is a small entrance fee which goes toward the upkeep of the hall and includes tea, coffee and home baking.
The fair runs from 10.30 - 3.30 pm and you can find the village on Google maps here
My next event after that is The Handmade Show at Perth Concert Hall on Sunday 15th November. This is another of my favourite days of the year. Dozens of fabulous makers from all over Scotland.
10.30 - 4.30 pm
I have a limited amount of small framed pieces with me at my events as most of my work is on display at The Atholl Gallery in Dunkeld.
I also have work going into an exhibition at Penicuik Arts Centre that starts on 2nd November. The exhibition runs until the 5th December and will include these new pieces.
Aurora and Stars
Sea Thrift and Dragonflies
Looking forward to seeing some of you along the way.
