December Update with Lots of Gift Ideas

Well, that's all my craft fairs and events over for 2017 and what a fantastic time I had taking my wares out and about!
I had to expand my stall at a few of the fairs I did as I struggle to fit everything on a 6ft table now.
Below was my stall 'In The Loft' at Ardross Farm Shop on the last weekend of November. I thoroughly enjoyed being back here near Elie. Although it was an exceptionally cold weekend, lots of people turned out for the fair and the fellow artists and makers were great fun.

This month I have been making as much of my work available online as I can. Lots of photos taken and edited! My Etsy shop is stocked right up with lots of lovely gift ideas.

My lens cloths are back in stock with two new designs added.
Hare Among The Wildflowers and Drying Day at The Bothy.

At £3.50 each these make a great little gift or a treat for yourself.

I also have some new canvas prints in. Light weight and easy to post.
All these ones measure 20 x 20 cm at £20.

I had a few seascapes printed as well.

I think these two go particularly well together.
 20 x 30 cm
£30

and I have a few larger ones at 35 x 35 cm
£40.

My tea towels also make a great gift, easy to post.

£10 each, machine washable at 40Âșc. I washed and ironed one just to make sure and it came out beautifully.

My little keepsake boxes have been flying off all over the world and I only have one left in this size and a couple of smaller ones at the moment.

7 x 7 x 7 cm
£35

I'll need to make more background felt and get some more made this week or next.

I have lots of pendants and earrings available in various shops and galleries including Silver Linings in Perth, The Atholl Gallery in Dunkeld, The Rowan Tree in Falkland and Maisie and Mac in Cupar.

I am doing my best to keep my Etsy shop stocked up with them as well with more earrings being added today.

Pendants £26, Earrings £18

I love making my leaf and bird brooches and have quite a few listed.

Brooches £12

My next event will be Edinburgh Yarn Festival in March! It's a three day event this time from Thursday 15th to Saturday 17th March at Edinburgh Corn Exchange. The social space is being expanded and with the market place running for three days, it's set to be even bigger and better!
The Exhibitor list is available to browse on the EYF website here

I am so excited to be there again in 2018! This is such a vibrant and inspiring event and I am already planning my wares and thinking about how best to layout my stand.
If you are planning to attend, it is best to sign up to the EYF mailing list as important ticket info is sent out in January.

I will also be taking part in Open Studios North Fife in May 2018.

That seems like a long way away but these things have to be planned well in advance and you can take a sneaky peek at the participants list on the OSNF website here . It's quite handy having a name that starts with A. It often puts me at the top of the list!

I'll leave you with this photo I took in Anstruther last week on a rare day off. I'm very much looking forward to some time off over the holidays, a chance to gather inspiration and recharge in readiness for a busy 2018!

December

I've been trying to update my blog for over two weeks now but keep getting interrupted with one thing or another. I've had these photos of Loch Tay loaded since the end of November! First thing I would like to say though is a big hello and thank you to all of you who follow along by email notification. It's great to have you all there and I appreciate your interest in my work.
Things have calmed down a little bit since the craziness of October and November but I still have lots to keep me busy.

We took a day off a couple of weeks ago and drove up to Loch Tay on a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon to revisit all the places that my husband and I went to on the day he proposed 12 years ago.

I have always loved this area and never tire of going back.
After so many dull days in November, it was wonderful to see the sun again.

The Autumn colours on the north side of the loch shone gold in the late afternoon sun.

It brought to mind the words of The Loch Tay Boat Song

'When I've done my work of day
And I row my boat away,
Down the waters of Loch Tay
As the evening light is fading.
And I look upon Ben Lawers
Where the after glory glows,
And I think on two bright eyes
And the merry mouth below.'

The sun was gone by the time we reached The Hermitage but a bright moon shone through the trees.

Back to what's new though, I've been busy making lots of jewellery for wholesale orders and got some made for my Etsy shop as well.

Only two bracelets available at the moment.
£20 including Gift Box

Lots of pendants and earrings though.
Pendants £24 and £20
Earrings £18

It is very difficult to convey in a photo the iridescent qualities of the fabrics I use in my jewellery. When I add the glass or resin on top, it magnifies the iridescence even more so I have tried to capture the effect in this video clip.
I know I need to work on my videoing skills but you get the idea.

The square pendants measure 3.3 x 3.3 cm and really catch the light beautifully.

These earrings are all on handmade sterling silver ear wires made by Anne Miller at Newburgh. I love Anne's ear wires. Each pair is slightly different and the quality is excellent.

I have closed my order book for cushions and coasters as they take a while to get to me and then have to be posted on and may get delayed with the busy post at this time of year.
I do have one of each of these in stock and ready to post though.

Harvey the Highland Cow measures 30 x 30cm
£28 plus p+p

And I have these two larger cushions at 45 x 45 cm
£38 plus p+p

They have both turned out well but I particularly like the greens and blues in the one above.

I also have a few sets of coasters ready to post.

They come gift wrapped and well packaged for safe delivery. I can also add a note and send directly to the recipient at no extra cost.

Coasters £14.95 plus p+p

I've had a wee commission to work on this week which has been nice. Some new felt making supplies have also arrived so I am looking forward to putting them to good use.
I love making felt for the sheer pleasure of seeing how the fibres work together and the spontaneous results that ensue.

I've been toying with the idea of having some knitting bags printed. This is quite a nice sized jute bag with one of my pictures printed on it. I'll continue developing the idea and let you know when they are available.
